“MoonBound Project”

“MoonBound” is a transdisciplinary artistic product initiated by the Moon Gallery Foundation (The Netherlands). The edition brings together micro-format artworks and texts by 50 European artists from different countries and artistic fields. Among them is also a Bulgarian visual artist based in the United States, placing a special emphasis on Bulgaria’s presence in international cultural exchange.

The project’s ambition is for this edition to be sent to the Moon in late 2025 as part of a space agency mission – allowing art to literally transcend the boundaries of our planet.Within the project framework in Plovdiv, we will host public presentations, discussions, and accompanying eventsaddressed both to the professional cultural community and to the wider public. Through these activities, we will explore themes such as the role of art in the context of space exploration, the relationship between science and creativity, and new forms of European cultural cooperation. We also plan educational formats – talks, creative meetings, and presentations – that encourage young people to think about art in a new, bold, and forward-looking way.

The “MoonBound Project” contributes to broader social inclusion by providing access to contemporary European art that is both conceptually ambitious and open to diverse audiences. For the Association “Center for Projects – Plovdiv”, this is an opportunity to further develop its international partnerships and to position Plovdiv as an active participant in global cultural processes that connect art, technology, and the human dream of space.
